A highlight on Lignin Conversions at the ECO-BIO Congress
A highlight on lignin conversions and applications
I visited the ECO-BIO congress and would like to share a highlight on lignin:
In a session on lignin conversion to products, Roberto Rinaldi of the Max Plank Institut fur Kohlenforschung showed that lignin in native biomass can be selectively hydrogenated to phenolic monomers.
In the same session Florian Graichen of SCION showed that lignin plus some protein can be converted to formaldehyde-free adhesives for plywood and other applications.
In my May newsletter I will provide more information on this interesting congress. You can sign up via the form in the sidebar to receive the Harmsen Consultancy Newsletter.
